Discovery Day

Discovery Day is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025

Update for 5/7/2025: We have reached capacity for Discovery Day and are no longer accepting new registrations for the event.

This event is designed for high school juniors to learn more about the Honors College and the University of Arkansas campus. Students will have the opportunity to meet with Honors College staff and faculty, along with a chance to learn about all of the opportunities available in the Honors College, including innovative coursework, study abroad, undergraduate research, and specialized advising for honors students.

Interested in what you can start doing this summer to make yourself competitive for Honors College admission and scholarship opportunities? Discovery Day is the place to find out how, with an information session on what students and their families can start doing to prepare for competitive admission and scholarship applications.

Parking

Parking will be in the Garland Avenue Parking Garage (650 Garland Avenue; Fayetteville, AR 72701). Guests should park on Levels 4-6 in the garage. You do not need a parking pass for the event, and you will not have to pay for parking in the garage since the event is taking place on a weekend.

Please note: As you are traveling, parts of Stadium Drive and Maple Avenue (the section of Maple between Leverett and Gregg Avenues) are expected to be closed due to construction. You will want to avoid both roads if possible.

When you park, please observe some of the rules of the garage, including:

  • Since it is a parking garage, please do not back into any spaces.
  • Do not use any of the 30 minute parking spaces.
  • Please do not park in a handicapped space without a valid handicapped parking tag.

After parking, walk south (in the direction of the UA Bookstore connected to the garage) where you will find the elevators and stairs. You will want to go down to Level 3, where you can exit the garage. Leaving the garage, you will turn left on Garland Avenue. You will cross the corner of Garland and Maple at the stop light staying on Garland toward the Arkansas Union. Please make sure to push the call button at the light before crossing.

For more information on where to find the Arkansas Union (ARKU) in proximity to the Garland Avenue Parking Garage (GAPG), you can use our campus map. Please note that the Arkansas Union's Verizon Ballroom Entrance is where event check-in will take place the morning of Discovery Day.
