Internships for All

Internship Support

Many honors students pursue prestigious internships that offer invaluable experience but not always a paycheck. These opportunities often serve as stepping stones to competitive careers in fields like government, nonprofit, and research. Without financial support, many students are forced to turn down these experiences in favor of paid work unrelated to their academic or professional goals. By supporting Internship Grants, donors help level the playing field—ensuring that all students, regardless of financial background, can build the networks, skills, and confidence they need to launch meaningful careers.

Laney Kellybrew

This internship was an invaluable experience, and opened doors for me that have seemed intangible at times.

— Laney Kellybrew, political science

Pearson Hafer

Without [this experience], I wouldn’t feel as confident or prepared for dental school. I now know multiple students currently in dental school, dentists from all around Northwest Arkansas and other pre-dental students at the U of A.

Research and Study Abroad

Research and study abroad experiences are transformative opportunities that deepen academic engagement and prepare students to thrive in a globalized world. These opportunities can be financially out of reach for many students. Donor support ensures that all motivated students, regardless of background, can pursue these high-impact experiences and bring their insights back to enrich the broader campus community.

Open the world to every student. Your gift makes global learning possible.

Chloe Martinez

If I were to give advice to incoming students, I would say, ‘You are very capable of pursuing real research, but you don’t have to do it alone. Find people who lift you up. Find people who advocate for you.

As I embark on my next journey, I know that I have a lot to learn about how to be a law student, and I also believe in my ability to adapt and utilize my resources. I know that I’ll meet incredible people and do my best to learn from them—not make comparisons. The lessons I’ve learned and the experiences I’ve had at the Honors College have been life-changing, and I will carry them with me forever.

I think especially in the South, a lot of people don’t realize just how much incredible creative stuff is going on here. To be able to be there at the forefront of documenting that is such an incredible experience.
