Honors Convocation will take place Monday, September 29, 2025. 

Honors College Convocation is a great chance for high school seniors and juniors to explore the exceptional opportunities available to students through the Honors College, including innovative honors courses, study abroad grant funding, undergraduate research opportunities, and specialized advising through our Futures Hub. 

You will hear from professors and staff members who are committed to mentoring students for academic success, and current honors students will share study abroad and research stories, as well as their plans for life after graduating with honors from the University of Arkansas.

Interested in competing for Honors College fellowships and academic scholarships? Convocation is the place to find out how, with an informative session on creating personal statements and résumés for highly competitive applications.

Students and guests will bus from the Baum-Walker Stadium West Parking Lot to the Arkansas Union.

9:15 - 11:00 am

Information Fair, International Connections Lounge in the Arkansas Union

Students and guests can meet with representatives from UA academic colleges and a variety of campus offices.

11:00 - 11:30 am

OPTIONAL - Tour of Hotz Honors Hall

OPTIONAL - Full Campus Tour (will include a stop by Hotz Honors Hall)

There will be three options at the end of the event: 1) Leave campus to return to your car, 2) Take a tour of Hotz Honors Hall, which should take 30-40 minutes, or 3) Take a full campus tour that includes a stop by Hotz Honors Hall, which should take about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Dismissal for each group will take place in the Verizon Ballroom.

 

Event Parking

Students and families will be parking outside the home of Razorback baseball, Baum-Walker Stadium (1255 S. Razorback Road; Fayetteville, AR 72701). Please park your car in the Baum-Walker West Parking Lot, also known as the Cardinal Lot on game days. For more details about baseball parking lots, please visit the site below:

Bus Transportation

Buses will be available to transport students and their guests to the Arkansas Union from 8:45-10:45 am the day of the event. There will also be buses that leave campus at the end of the day to transport students and their families back to the parking lot.

If you need to return to your car in the middle of the day, you can take Route 48 from the Arkansas Union Bus Station. This route includes a stop at Baum-Walker Stadium.

Event Lunch Instructions

Walton College, Fay Jones School of A&D, and College of Education & Health Professions – 1021 Food Hall

  • You and your guests will receive a meal ticket when you check into the event. Please do not lose it!
  • When you arrive at 1021, you’ll go through a line and pick up your drink cup. You will then select one of the following stations to use your meal ticket: Ark N Style, Root for You, Talegate Burgers, El Cerdo Mexican, The Green Table, Herbimore, Passport to Pasta, or Loaf + Pickles Sandwiches.
  • Regardless of the meal you choose, you will also have access to the drink, fruit/yogurt, and dessert stations.

Fulbright College – Gearhart Hall

  • Gearhart Hall is the home of the Honors College, located between Old Main and Bell Engineering.
  • Catered box lunches will be available along with drinks. Boxes for people who made us aware of dietary restrictions on the event registration form will also be available.
  • There will be plenty of space for you to sit and eat in the Honors College, including our lounges and classrooms.

College of Engineering and Bumpers College – Arkansas Union Food Court

  • The Arkansas Union Food Court is located on the floor below the International Connections Lounge, where today’s Information Fair took place.
  • You will choose the restaurant where you want to get food. Options include: Cabo Mexican Grill, Chick-Fil-A, Paper Lantern, Rustic Italian, and True Burger. You can also go to Where the Wild Greens Are, which is our salad/rice bowl option located near the International Connections Lounge.
  • When you order your food, inform the cashier that you are using the Honors College Pink Sheet - #40076. They will have you fill out a form with your name and the amount of money that will be charged to the Honors College.
  • Please note: Eating at Chick-Fil-A and True Burger can often be a longer wait than other restaurants.
  • The maximum you can spend on your individual lunch order is $15.
