Community Leaders Program

As a first generation college student and/or the only honors student from your high school, we recognize you as a leader from your community. We’d like to help you access resources and build an effective resume during your time here so that you will be well positioned in your future career.

Program Benefits

• Resume-building experiences.
• Enhanced knowledge of and access to honors resources.
• Networking.
• Certificate after program completion at the end of sophomore year.

Program Requirements

• Attend one group dinner a semester for freshman and sophomore years.We’ll have guest speakers on topics to help you excel!
• Attend one Honors College workshop or social event per semester. One ofthese should be a resume workshop.
• Schedule a one-on-one with any Futures Hub staff once a semester.
• Review your resume one-on-one with Futures Hub staff.
• Commit to 5 service hours per semester. (We’ll make sure you know howto do this!)
• Assist with outreach to your community. This might be as simple aswriting a short blog for our website. You could also make a presentationto students at your high school if you are comfortable doing this.
